My weekend in PLAYA SAMARA!

Where do I even begin on our weekend getaway to Playa Samara...

Thursday we left in our rental car and headed for our two hour drive south along the pacific. It was such an easy drive...didnt get lost as I thought we would. We arrived at our hostel which was absolutely adorable (well, jamie and I found it adorable...our two British friends found it dirty and disgusting...ha!) It was this bright yellow, two story building...our room was the size of a closet with two twin beds and a double bed, our bathroom was as small as the backseat of a car and the walls were lime green all around! Typical hostel that made the trip that much better! We spent our first day on the beach of Samara which is literally a town placed right upon the sand. So cute and so fun with people filling the streets and shops!

Thursday night we met up with Jesse...a guy jamie and I knew from our gym at home. He was hanging out with this older surf bum, such a nice guy, from California as well. We chilled at his camp site and shared stories!

Friday Jamie Elaine Christine and I went to Nosara, about 45 minutes north along a bumpy dirt road. Jamie and I attempted to surf, she got up a lot on her board...I constantly ate shit! After an hour of surfing I was left with bruised hip bones and a swollen knee! Is that typically what happens? Dont think so! =)

Friday night we all went to our hostel, Jesse and Rob (surf bum) came over, drank a few drinks and went out on the town of Samara. We pretty much spent the rest of the weekend playing on the beach, eating at fun resturaunts and laughing at all the random stuff coming out of our mouths. Sunday we visited the beautiful beach Playa Carrillo and played in the water and took naps on the beach. I walked 45 minutes down the beach listening to my ipod, still in disbelief that I am here.

All in all it was more than what I expected from a 4 day weekend. Simply amazing and so much fun to spend time constantly laughing about every thing and nothing with a bunch of friends.

And yes...we did get lost on the drive home...in the dark...and I was driving...I didnt prove my good sense of direction very well but it yet it was another adventure and story to add on the list!

Finishing school this week than Jamie and I are off to travel all over this beautiful country! Ill keep you updated as we go! LOVE and MISS you all!

    BIG! It really sounds like you are having the time of your life! If only we made this trek together! haha But the feeling of traving alone is something so amazing! It really opens you up and demands change in a good way...you are going to grow and become yet a better person after this. If that is even possible...because you are so amazing to begin with!
    I will be keeping up with your blogs OF COURSE!! I almost cried reading them just now!
    Couple questions though...What school are you going to? I am so glad you are staying with a host family...it is really going to help your Spanish! I stayed on campus with roommates, which helped my partying more haha :) Where is your school? Hopefully close to the beach!
    OK LOVE YOU...get back to me as soon as you can! I know its hard! But that is sooo cool your host padre is the owner of an internet cafe! Hopefully he hooks you up...because it can get annoying paying for internet! haha :)
    LOVE YOU! Be safe! Watch out for those creep ticos...I am sure they love your blonde hair! :) haha

    @Lucy
    I get your blogs on my phone when ever you post one, but I can not respond on it. I am so sorry for not leaving you a message on here for a while. I have been thinking about you sooooooo much and I miss you. Do you remember the first night you and I stayed at the Trefalgar place, you opened a Dr. Pepper, but couldn't finish it? You put it in the back of the fridge to save for later. I cant bring myself to throw it away, because every time I open the refridgerater, I see it and am reminded of you. I get sad, but then happy. I miss you so much Lucy. Life here has been craaaazy, and time has been so limited. It sounds like you are having a great time. The pictures are beautiful!! You look the same. Your blogs make me feel like I am there with you. This makes it nice for you, because when you come home...you wont have to share all the stories with everyone. I know how exhausting that is. Anyway...I am going to send you an email right now. I love you Lucy!!!!!!

I'm 25 and from San Clemente California. I consider myself a free spirit that loves taking risks, whether the outcome is positive or ends up a disaster, the risk is always worth it. I just recently made the decision to travel to Costa Rica for a few months and overwhelm my mind with its beautiful culture and language. I am leaving my job and taking a jump towards unpredictable, yet exciting, new experiences! I am so excited to start this new journey and know only great things will come from it!!
