Off to PLAYA SAMARA por Semana Santa!! |
Just a quick littel blog before I head off to Samara with Jamie, Elaine and Christine tomorrow. We are renting a car, have a map with no road names, only little lines pointing in the direction we want to go so it should be exciting getting lost on the way there! I am seriously actually looking forward to being lost...weird, huh! But I know we will eventually find it...thats the whole fun of traveling, being with the ones that you laugh with, traveling thru a new country, seeing all the beautiful parts along the road!
So really quick update=new things I did from monday to today...
my family cooked me a great meal on monday night, didnt really know what it was, then half way thru my mama tica asked me "le gusta vaca lengua?" Uh....sure? Not knowing what she meant I continued to eat it, finished it all, rushed to my room to my spanish dictionary to read under "vaca lengua"=cow tongue. YUM! I just ate freaking cow tongue...not one peice, but five peices! But the great thing is is that I actually enjoyed it and found it very tasty! Couldnt be worse than my sister eating turkey nuts right? =)
Tuesday night I walked home with a large herd of cows and bulls. The three bulls had huge horns and head butting eachother while I was quickly trying to pass them. The cows continued down the dirt road along my side, swaying from the right to left the entire time! They seriously have no direction and no brain!
Today I sat and ate breakfast and watched my favorite family next door. For Semana Santa (easter week) all businesses pretty much close down, noone goes to school or work and tons of family from out of town come in and visit for the entire week. My fav family next door spent the morning sitting on their porch, the mom holding the 5 month little girl in her lap and the two brothers (4 and 7) playing pika boo with her. She was cracking up, the mom was cracking up, and the little boys felt so special being able to entertain their baby sister. Definitely brought back memories of my childhood with my sister and brother. After they played with their sister the boys helped their mom take the laundry off the clothes line, the entire time wrapping themselves up in the newly clean sheet, getting it completely dirty again. The mom didnt even flinch or get upset that her newly washed sheet was covered in dust. The boys were having a blast, therefor it was obvious that the mom was content!
Time to meet my friends at our local bar Vaka Loca...then off to Las Brisas "Ladies Night"...I will definitely fill you in on my travels to Samara when I return on sunday. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I truly miss you all!
