Happy St. Patrick´s Day!! |
HOLA!!
Sorry it takes me forever to post new blogs...its harder to set time aside during the day than I imagined! Plus, the internet here is sooo slow! Thank you for the comments, they are so fun to read and I appreciate you all reading mystories...I hope to keep them interesting!
So a quick update on my last few days here in Costa Rica, lets just say they have been very busy and active days and I am falling more and more in love with this place as the days go on!
On friday Jamie and Elaine (one out of the 2 cousins from England that we constantly hang out with) decided to go kayaking after class. We kayaked about an hour to this island that seemed to be abandoned. It was absolutely beautiful! White sand, crystal clear water, and a coconut that we attempted to break open by throwing it against a rock for ten minutes. We finally tugged off the skin and discovered a small shell "Wait, the skin wasnt the coconut, we have to break it more?"..wow...three brains and we didnt even realize the steps of dicovering a freakin coconut. We finally broke apart the shell and found a lovely rotten coconut....yum! But it was very funny and entertaining! The whole kayaking experience was awesome and a fun time!
Saturday Jamie, Nicolas, and I went to Playa COnchal which the sand is literally pieces of sea shells. So pretty! Jamie and I rented a jetski and took turns driving it in the crystal clear ocean! Although both of us had no idea what we were doing! Jamie drove first and I held on to her for dearlife although she is so small it was like holding onto a feather! Our butts never really hit the seat, we hauling ass and making sharp turns, then stopping to laugh, then off again! We both took turns driving like maniacs...the rentalguy was probably regretting allowing us to rent it! We had no fear and it definitely showed by our driving skills!
Yesterday was an awesome day! About 7 of us went on an adventure tour in Rincon dela Vieja (a national park and volcano) We rode horses to a waterfall...sounds relaxing and tranquil...but no...all our horses clumped together, fighting to be first, galoping off the path, taking no direction from us what so ever! The first 2 minutes into the ride Elaines horse cut me off, leaving my leg by the horses ass which led to her horseliterally shitting on my leg! I was shit on by a horse! Lets just say we all almost peed our pants! And who would have thought...Jamie was SCARED of the horses! She was given a horse the size of a donkey and she was practically screaming the whole way, not to mention her butt never truly rested on the saddle!! She was flopping around the entire time and of course had the horse that loved to go off the path! She was making all of us crack up!
After the ridewe went tubing down a rapid...a got to witness an old lady fall out of her tube and fling down a rapid...it was really funny, but I probably shouldnt have found it funny! Haha! After tubing we went zip lining thru the rainforest, in between zip lines we repelled upside down along a waterfall-cliff, tarzan swung across the river and then rock climbed back up to the next zip line! It was so much fun and I will make sure to postpics of it soon! We didnt get home until aroun 8pm but the entire day was so amazing (i feel like thats my main word to describe tis trip so sorry if I use it a lot...it just such a fitting adjective!)
Class is going well...second week is definitely harder than the first and my new teacher loves saying "esta bein" and "por enjemplo" every five seconds! Drives me nuts but I can still learn from him so Im biting my tongue on his annoying habits! =)
This week Jame Elaine and CHristine (the other one of the 2 English cousins) are taking a trip to Playa Samara! We have a 4 days weekend for easter so we are taking fulladvantage! Im sure Ill have more stories to come! Love and miss you all! Pura Vida! xoxox -Lucy |
