Playa Dominical |
It has been a somewhat of a fun time in Dominical. It started off fun on monday when Jamie and I went on this nontouristy tour to a waterfall with these two girls from Canada and three locals that work in the Dive and Surf Shop here in town. Their idea of a tour was pretty adventerous and just what Jamie and I was looking for. We parked the car on this dirt road, walked about half a mile to this green field. We stopped mid thru our walk and all of a sudden the ¨tour guide¨ Sebastian lifted up the barb wire fence that led into a jungle. ¨This is the path we take to the waterfall¨...Ugh...wheres the path? We literally walked through a jungle, holding onto trees to break our fall, slipping in the mud, breaking down branches to make somewhat of a path, red ants attacking our feet, bugs landing in our hair...we created our own path. It was a challenge to get down the crazy jungle hill but so worth it once we hit solid land that looked out into this massive waterfall. We washed the jungle off in the water and swam under the waterfall...it was so beautiful and calming! We then ventured down to another waterfall...soaked up the sun that fell between the hills and then headed back up the jungle to leave. Theadventure back seemed much more easier since we knew what to expect. Less slipping, less red ants, but still a hike up a nonexsistent path. After the waterfall they took us to swim in beach coves and a smaller waterfall with a rope swing. All in all the day was very fun and extremely successful with adventure.
Since Monday night, after returning from our tour both Jamie and I have been sick. A couple other guys in our hostel are sick too which leaves us to think it must have been something we ate or drank. Being sick in a foreign country isnt ideal. All I want is a comfortable bed, with a cool ocean breeze (or air conditioning will do) and a television to watch to take my mind off being sick. Instead we have have a small, hot, sticky hostel room with cardboard matresses, public bathrooms, one tv in a communal area that has bugs and no breeze, and a kitchen to cook soup in that has more ants on the counters than your typical ant farm. Its been pretty miserable but we try to continue to look at the bright side. Hopefully by tomorrow we feel 100 percent and can make our way to Panama...our next stop hopefully being Bocas del Torro.
Until then Pura Vida!! |

I am here in Shitville Lake Elsinore, working my ass off infront of this computer, my back is killing me, the electric and water companies are knocking on my door for payment, my mortgage just went up another $400 a month because of our rediculous balloon intrest rate, the dog just crapped on my family room carpet, Gisella's front tire went flat, the gallon of gas just went up to $3.96, I am seeing a therapist twice a week, American Idol is my high point of the week, and it was 98 degrees this last weekend.
Beat that Lucy! How come I don't see anyone visiting my blog to read about my exciting life? It's address is www.stagnant-andy.com.

LOL at your brother's comment below... I kinda agree with him that life here in the states is far less glorious than your wonderful travels through the jungles and waterfalls!
I'm so sorry to hear that you're sick mama! That is definitely not fun... Especially since your living conditions at the moment sound less than stellar. I'm sending you a gigantic internet hug and lots of mental waves to get better soon so the adventures can continue!
Post more pics! I wanna see these places you are talking about!
Love you mama... Get better!!!

Oh man, you will love Bocas. It's so beautiful! Well, almost every place you've been to is beautiful, but I really loved Bocas. There were dolphins swimming right along side us... Ahh, I miss it. Have fun! -Katie.
